My sewing room is finally ORGANIZED!

I’m going to be a little excessive here about my sewing room transformation because I’m literally obsessing about it (beware: lots of pictures)!  It was a hassle whenever I had to sew because there just wasn’t enough room for me or all my stuff.
BEFORE
(AH!  How embarrassing!)
(at one time I had 10 sewing machines in all this clutter – yikes!)

AFTER

What did I change exactly?  I took out the long table under the window, the 3 shelves in the corner and added 2 metal shelves and got a bunch of Ikea bins (I love their bins!) and spent a TON of time folding fabric and organizing.

Now, keep in mind it has taken me 6 years to accumulate everything and I have an excuse to have so much stuff – it’s for my ‘business’ and well, I guess I just love fabric and sewing stuff too!

More pictures just for fun:
The University was selling these.  See the label at the top “feminist toolshed”?  I have no clue what these could have been used for!
My big bolts of fabric used to be in the basement – now they fit in my room!  The 3 baskets are dedicated to knits – those are impossible to fold so I just threw them in there.
This took a long time to organize these elastic trims but it makes the biggest difference to open the drawer and see everything.
I used to have all this stuff in a toolbox.. love these Ikea organizers!
Folding fabric.. ugh!  Here are my cotton prints, home decor fabrics, sheets and bottom weights.
The top half of this shelf is dedicated to my baby carrier straps and slings.
A place for ribbon, zippers and trims!
Little nicknacks.

Dani, you are somewhat…crazy… 🙂 We love you! I had no idea you had such an obsession with sewing! I knew you were great at it; but all those sewing machines are something else! Good for you. One day I hope you own your own shop. 🙂
